I’m based in North Yorkshire, where I run Book Corner, an independent bookshop which I founded in 2014.

I’ve always loved writing. My early ‘books’ were tiny biographies of my dog and creatures from Greek mythology, which I illustrated and bound together with wool. As a teenager, I became obsessed with musical theatre and The Phantom of the Opera, so I did what any self-respecting fangirl would do, and started publishing fanfiction on the internet. I was delighted when complete strangers enjoyed my stories, and decided to try my hand at original fiction.

After completing a theatre degree, I studied for an MA in Creative Writing at Teesside University. I then worked in an art gallery for a few years, before opening Book Corner, my independent bookshop in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

I’ve been running the bookshop for over ten years now, and writing in my spare time. My debut novel, The Moon and Stars, was published by Fairlight Books in 2022. My second novel is called The Hometown Bookshop and will be published by Fairlight on 21st August 2025.

As well as my cosy, ‘realistic’ novels, I also enjoy writing fantasy fiction. I love playing around with folk tales, and I’m currently working on a fantasy novel set in North Yorkshire. My short stories have been published by Harvey Duckman, English Heritage, Writers Online, and Teesside Literary Society. I occasionally write for the stage, and recently had a monologue performed by Pilot Theatre as part of a community project in Redcar.

I love chatting about books and writing, and enjoy getting out and about to other bookshops, book clubs and writing groups. If you have an idea for a visit, please feel free to contact me.
